Can’t make it to the Florida Keys? Then you might want to try one of the many indoor water parks in the CoCo Key chain. Serving the Boston and Worcester areas of Massachusetts, CoCo Key Fitchburg is pretty typical of the franchise. It’s slightly smaller than the CoCo Key in Danvers, but above average when compared to other indoor water parks (both in the chain and generally).

CoCo Key water parks are connected to a variety of different hotels around the country. This one is attached to Holiday Inn Fitchburg. You don’t have to rent a room to get into the water park, though. There are a limited number of day passes available to the public.

The hotel has all the accommodations and amenities you would expect from a Holiday Inn. If you’re planning to stay the night (or weekend), you might save money by getting a package that includes water park passes. If needed, you can always purchase admission to the water park separately.

The water park is 55,000 square feet, which makes it one of the larger indoor water parks in New England. The attractions are mostly for kids, with a few bones thrown to adults who might want to relax in tropical splendor while the kids go crazy. Some of the major features include:

  • Three Long Tube Slides
  • Lazy River
  • Children’s Play Structure
  • Activity Pool (hoops, etc.)
  • Indoor/Outdoor Spa
  • Arcade Onsite
  • Multiple Food Options (includes fast food and healthier fare)

This water park is not open every day, even during the summer. At other times of year, it’s generally only open on weekends. To avoid nasty surprises, be sure to check the schedule before booking your stay.

As with other locations in the chain, CoCo Key Fitchburg is ideal for families with young children – whether they’re on summer vacation, or just need a quick getaway on a cold or rainy weekend. Older teens and adults may not find the rides here overly exciting, however. If this doesn’t quite fit your needs, you might want to check out the other indoor water parks in Massachusetts.
