Indoor Water Parks in Cincinnati, Ohio

Cincinnati, Ohio at NightCincinnati has more sporting events than you can shake a 9-iron at. In fact, with all the concerts, festivals, and parades, it has lots of events of all types. Whether you’re in Cincy for one of these events or for some other reason, staying at a hotel with an indoor water park is a good way to maximize your fun. Heck, even if you live in the area, it’s nice to be able to visit one of these year-round water parks on a rainy day or in the dead of winter.

Fortunately, there are two indoor water parks in Cincinnati to choose from. Both are part of well-established chains with locations in other states.

Great Wolf Lodge

For kids, the Great Wolf Lodge resorts are basically the next best thing to Disneyland. Like other resorts in the chain, the one in Mason (just north of Cincy) features a 79,000 square foot indoor water park, along with loads of other kid-friendly features. There’s enough to do here to fill up your whole weekend, and then some. There’s a large arcade, full service spa, multiple shops and restaurants, and so on. But the real highlight is the water park and its assortment of high-speed water attractions. The only potential downside is that you have to stay at the resort to get in – you can’t purchase a day pass separately.

CoCo Key Water Resort

This indoor water park is connected to the Crowne Plazza Cincinnati North. It’s 50,000 square feet, which seems to be the standard size for this chain of Key West-themed water parks. While it’s certainly not big as Great Wolf Lodge or some of the famous indoor water parks in the Midwest, it’s not exactly small either. It’s got an impressive array of water attractions, including water slides (natch) and the ever-popular lazy river. There’s a Pizza Hut Express onsite, as well as a bar that’s open on weekends. CoCo Key Water Resort is also open to the public – obviously a nice option for those who live in the area.

There may not be a lot of indoor water parks in Cincinnati, but the ones that are there are pretty solid choices. Staying at CoCo Key can enhance any family vacation, while Great Wolf Lodge is a vacation destination in and of itself. If your vacation plans are flexible and you want even more options, you might also want to check out the indoor water parks down the road in Columbus. If you’re willing to travel to other parts of the state, there are loads of great indoor water parks in Ohio.
