Indoor water parks are now everywhere in the United States, even in places that have warm weather all year long. So it’s no surprise that they’ve come to Connecticut and other New England states, where the winters are cold and the demand for tropical weekend getaway spots would seem to be astronomically high. No, the surprise is that there aren’t more indoor water parks in Connecticut. Currently, there’s only one (not counting smaller facilities that don’t really deserve to be called water parks).
So here it is, the biggest, best, and only indoor water park in Connecticut. Fortunately, it’s a good one.
CoCo Key Water Resort (Waterbury/Hartford)
CoCo Key is a national chain of indoor water parks, most of which are mid-sized and equipped with all manner of fun water attractions. The 50,000 square foot Waterbury location follows this formula, keeping visitors entertained year-round with water slides, a lazy river, and a kids play area with giant tipping bucket (among other attractions). The resort features a large hotel, so you can book a room for the whole family and enjoy an extended stay. Passes to the water park are available to both hotel guests and the general public.
Unfortunately, that’s the only option – for now. Given the current trend, it seems like a pretty safe bet that in the near future choosing an indoor water park in Connecticut won’t be such a straightforward process. We’ll keep this page updated if and when any new indoor water parks open up in the state. In the meantime, if you’re looking for more options, you might want to check out the indoor water parks in the other New England states.
