If you haven’t noticed that indoor water parks are becoming a big thing, then you haven’t been paying attention. Since becoming popular in the Midwest in the 1990s, they’ve spread virtually everywhere, including Washington. That’s not to say there are a lot of indoor water parks in Washington State, though. In fact, there’s really only one that has enough water attractions to really deserve to be called a water park. Here it is.
Great Wolf Lodge (Grand Mound)
This indoor water park is part of a national chain with locations throughout North America. The indoor water park at Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound is 56,000 square feet, which is fairly large compared to other indoor water parks in the United States. It includes many popular attractions in the Great Wolf franchise, including a huge children’s play fort, wave pool, family raft ride, and a hot tub area for grownups who want to kick back while the kids go crazy on the slides. To enjoy all these fun attractions, you’ll have to stay at the resort – unlike other indoor water parks, they don’t offer day passes to the general public. Besides the water park, the resort has all sorts of other activities to entertain both kids and adults.
Another option in the state is the Ramada Spokane Airport and Indoor Waterpark. However, despite the name, this isn’t what we would call a true water park, but more like a pool with water park attractions. It has an indoor and outdoor pool, hot tub, and water slide.
Obviously, the indoor water parks in Washington State are somewhat limited. That could easily change in coming years, however, as indoor water parks continue to grow in popularity. We’ll be sure to update this page whenever new facilities open up. In the meantime, if you want more options in the Northwest, you might want to check out Oregon’s indoor water parks. There are also a couple of great options in Idaho.
