100 Whitetail Drive
Dundee, MI 48131
The historic village of Dundee, Michigan may be small, but it has one thing that even some of the largest cities don’t have – an indoor water park. Dundee is home to one of two Splash Universe indoor water parks (the other is in Shipshewana, Indiana). It may be on the small side compared to other indoor water parks around the nation, but don’t tell that to the children who enjoy splashing and sliding year-round in its temperature controlled environs.
While Splash Universe includes a hotel, you don’t have to stay there in order to get into the water park. There’s also the option to just buy a day pass (or half-day pass). However, booking a room is often a better deal, particularly if you want to spend more than one day at the water park. All hotel guests receive free admission, which you can take advantage of on the day you check in as well as the day you check out.
This is a kid-sized park with mostly kid-oriented attractions, so if you’re expecting really dramatic rides or state-of-the-art features, you might be disappointed. Kids are likely to love it, however. Some of the features include:
- Tube Slides
- Agility Course
- Lazy River
- Kids’ Play Structure with Large Tipping Bucket
- Hot Tub (grownups only)
- Arcade and Snack Bar Onsite
Overall, Splash Universe is a great family getaway spot for those who live within driving distance in places such as Ann Arbor, Detroit, or Toledo. The resort actually courts repeat business with the Adventure Quest Kids Club that entitles kids to free water park admission on their birthdays (along with other benefits). For those visiting the area from elsewhere, staying at Splash Universe is also a great way to add a little fun to your stay while keeping the kids entertained and happy.
If, on the other hand, you’re looking for the best indoor water park experience – and you’re willing to travel farther to get there – you may be better served researching other options. There are tons of excellent indoor water parks to choose from in Michigan. There are also some great indoor water parks down in Sandusky, Ohio.
